Newly elected President of Conradh na Gaeilge, Ciarán Mac Giolla Bhéin

Comhghairdeas to the newly elected President of Conradh na Gaeilge, Ciarán Mac Giolla Bhéin.

Dréimire welcome the news that our board member, Ciarán, was elected President at the organisation’s Ard-Fheis in Wexford on 22 February 2025.

Ciarán was born and raised in Belfast, where he was among the first generation to be educated through the medium of Irish, from nursery school to secondary school.

Ciarán spent time teaching in gaelscoileanna and 5 years working as Advocacy Manager with Conradh na Gaeilge when the new office was opened in Belfast in 2014.

He is still a spokesperson and active member of Dream Dearg. For the past few years Ciarán has been employed as Language Planning Co-ordinator with Fís an Phobail, in West Belfast.

He is a founding member of Glór na Móna and current chair of the youth group Fóram na nÓg and the GAA’s all-Irish club Laochra Loch Lao.

We wish Ciarán every success in his new role.
